Description

Dawson's ideal home

Dawson is a 7-year-old collie cross who has captured the hearts of everyone at the centre. Despite his endearing nature, Dawson is a nervous dog who finds the world a bit overwhelming at times. He is looking for a calm, adult-only home with someone who has experience with his breed and can read his body language well.

Could you be Dawson's perfect match?

Dawson needs an adult only home and to be the only pet in the household, as he prefers all the attention for himself. He could have walking buddies but is quite happy on his own. He is on medication to manage his long term skin condition but this is well under control but would need a discussion with our vet team if you are interested in our superstar for more information. It doesn’t impact on his life as he is still the same lovable boy.
Despite his timid demeanour, Dawson has a playful side and loves chasing tennis balls. To ensure a successful adoption, interested parties would need to meet Dawson multiple times to build a strong bond and establish trust.
In summary, Dawson is a delightful dog who needs a loving, experienced owner to provide him with a secure and stable home. With the right care and attention, Dawson will undoubtedly make a loyal and devoted companion for the rest of his life.

Please note that due to the volume of enquires we receive, we will be able to respond only to homes that we feel best meet Dawson’s needs.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
