Star's ideal home

Star would do well with an experienced Collie owner. He needs to be the only pet at home and any children will have to be older than 16. He is house trained and would prefer not to be left more than an hour or two. Star needs a secure garden.

Star has a lot of typical Collie traits, such as a hatred of traffic and a need to herd anything that moves! Unfortunately his family were moving abroad and couldn't take him, so brought him back to us. He isn't thrilled about his return but he's happy to explore and meet new people, which he does very enthusiastically! Star loves to play and will typically bring a ball to you and nudge it with his nose for you to throw again, which is very cute. He is very sensitive to loud noises such as hoovers and hairdryers, and the frequent trains that run alongside the centre aren't doing him any favours. When meeting other dogs, Star doesn't want to interact, but he has walked with others when in the home. His new family will need to be willing to work on reducing his reactivity to other dogs, as our trainers have done.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
