Scorcher is used to a quiet household and looking for a similar home without any pets or children under 16. He can be left for a couple of hours once settled and is house trained.

Scorcher has recently lost his owner, and although we've been taking things at his pace, he's settled very well with us. He's making a lot of friends at the centre and likes to greet people feet first! Scorcher has been through a lot, and for a spell was home alone with a family member popping to in feed and let him out, so he's rather bewildered by all that's happening. Scorcher is thrilled at getting regular walks now and and is great on his lead and likes to explore new places. Unfortunately he doesn't seem comfortable around other dogs, especially if they approach him head on. He has walked calmly behind others and likes a little time to settle in to it, but Scorcher isn't bothered about interacting with them. He's probably going to be happiest as the only dog at home, but some quiet friends for walking might be nice. Scorcher loves his grub and we have seen him counter-surf and do his very best to get to a tiny bit of food on a worktop! It would be a good idea to make sure no goodies are within his reach.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
