Axel

Liverpool, Merseyside9 weeks

Description

Axel's ideal home

Axel can live high school age children and also with cats as long as introduced slowly, but not other dogs. He is house trained and can be left for three to four hours once settled but will need someone with him most of the time initially. Axel can jump eight feet so needs to be supervised in the garden.

Could you be Axel's perfect match?

Axel is an active lad who is used to long walks and lots of exercise. He is always happy to see people and waits excitedly at his kennel door, making it difficult for us to get in! He's a clever lad who has certainly had some basic training, and he loves to lay with toys and balls. We know Axel has a fondness for burying bone sin the garden so please expect there to be some digging - he may not be the boy for you if your garden is your pride and joy! Axel has cleared an eight foot high fence before now, so should never be left unsupervised if your boundary is low enough for him to get over. He can be very hit and miss with other dogs and seems to lack social skills, so it's best that Axel is the only dog at home, but he should continue some appropriate socialising outside. Axel is house trained, but he an scent mark when he goes somewhere new.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
