Percy's ideal home

Percy is a treasure of a Collie who has been friendly with all the staff here at the centre. He can be a little conflicted and prefers a hands-off approach, so won’t be able to live with young children. However he can live with sensible teenagers. Percy doesn’t get much out of interacting with other dogs and needs to be the only pet in the home. He has been able to walk alongside other pooches in our care but can find interactions stressful, so he has learned to wear a muzzle for times when this might be a possibility. Percy can find the wider world a bit stressful and can get anxious. Therefore a secure garden for toileting and play is essential. Percy is currently on pain medication to help with mild hip dysplasia.

Percy is 2 years old and was sadly found as a stray. He was unwell when he entered our care and needed multiple vet visits and medications to improve his health, so has already been waiting quite some time to start the search for his forever home. Since recovering he has really shown us what a brilliant boy he is, but due to the lack of home history things like time left alone will need building up from scratch, and while he’s getting much braver around cars he’s still not there yet. Percy loves spending time playing with people and having fuss from those he knows well. He’s not a dog that will be able to walk for hours (though he might try to convince you otherwise!),so a home where he can spend quality time with his humans indoors or in the garden would be great.
