Description

Junior's ideal home

Aged approximately three-years-old, Junior is a gentle and affectionate boy, eager to find a home where he can blossom with time and patience. He came into our care after being found as a stray and has shown himself to be a sweet, yet sensitive soul who is lacking in confidence. While he’s making progress, he’ll need continued support to build his confidence and adjust to his new surroundings. As such, Junior is best suited to a calm household with older teenagers, where he can feel safe and secure. He tends to be nervous, especially in new environments, and may initially follow his new family members around as he gets settled. Junior gets along well with other dogs and could benefit from living with a steady, confident canine companion. A well-matched dog could help him build confidence and navigate daily activities more easily. We have no history on his experience with other animals, and he also has a bit of a herding instinct that may show up around wildlife, so care should be taken on walks in areas with other animals. Junior may find busy traffic overwhelming and is more comfortable in quieter, rural areas. A garden of his own is needed to help with toilet training, and he'll need to live with a minimum of two people.

Could you be Junior's perfect match?

With familiar faces, Junior is a cuddly, loving boy who thrives on attention and affection. He’ll form a strong bond with his people, and once he trusts you, he’ll show just how sweet and loyal he can be. While Junior didn’t show much interest in toys at first, he’s beginning to explore and enjoy playtime. With patience and a variety of toys to choose from, we’re confident he’ll soon show his playful side more regularly. Junior has enjoyed simple enrichment activities like eating his food in parcels and tucking into chews. These activities are great for keeping his brain engaged and helping him build confidence in his new home. If you're a patient, understanding adopter with an interest in reward-based training, Junior could be your perfect companion!

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
