Jake's ideal home

Jake is looking for a home with fun loving adopters who can take him on exploring adventures, a nice bed to cozy up in and keep his clever mind busy. He is looking for a calm environment with minimal visitors whilst he is settling in and getting used to his routine. He can live with children aged 14 years and over who can read when he is uncomfortable and give him some space. Jake would happily live in a home with another dog who is happy to co-exist and engage in some occasional play, but this is not a necessity, he would love to have friendly walking buddies, he cannot live with cats or other small furries. Jake doesn’t have any formal training but he is keen to learn for a tasty treat and it will only help to build his confidence further. He will need house training so a private, secure garden is needed. He can get a little worried being left alone, he could be left for up to 1-2 hours, this will need to be built up gradually after he has had time to settle into his new home. Jake will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
