Description

Coco Pup's ideal home

Coco is a loveable lady with bundles of enthusiasm! Aged just 6 months old, Coco is still growing and has much more to learn about the big wide world. She’s hopeful to find an active and committed family who can fill her life with fun, adventure, and lots of positive reinforcement training to help her thrive. Keen to say hello to every human she encounters, Coco is a super friendly girl but can be a little overexcitable. She may jump up to greet you, so she’ll need some support in learning calmer greetings. Coco has experience with children, but due to her lively nature and her need for dedicated time and training, we feel she would be best suited to a home where the youngest family members are in their teens. When it comes to meeting other dogs, Coco is still learning doggy etiquette and how to interact appropriately. However, with further support from her adopters, she has the potential to make great progress with her social skills. At this time, Coco will need to be the only dog in the household, and she’s unsuitable to live with cats or other small furries due to her high prey drive. Being an energetic pooch, Coco would prefer a garden of her own, but her potential adopters should be mindful that care is needed when she is off-lead in outdoor areas, as she has been known to jump very high—around 6 feet! She does find it challenging to be left alone, so she’ll need a home where she won’t be left on her own during the initial settling period. Over time, her family can gradually build up the time she is left, pairing it with positive outcomes.

Could you be Coco Pup's perfect match?

Coco enjoys a fuss from those she knows well and is sure to become an affectionate companion, as well as one who is fun and interactive. She’s incredibly smart and loves to work her brain through any challenge or activity you offer her, so she’d hugely benefit from plenty of enrichment and learning new skills. Playful by nature, Coco loves a game with her toys, though she can get a little OTT at times and may ‘puppy mouth,’ so she’ll need guidance on learning polite play. Always up for an adventure, Coco loves her walks and is particularly keen to explore rural areas, where there’s lots to sniff!

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
