Description

Patch's ideal home

Patch is a sensitive soul looking for a patient, reassuring home where he can build his confidence at a pace that suits him. He needs a calm, adult-only household willing to help him build confidence and gently introduce him to the outside world. A private garden is a must, giving him a safe space to explore and relax. Patch will thrive in a quiet environment with minimal hustle and bustle, and he needs to be the only pet in the home. While he must stay on a lead in public, he can enjoy time with well-matched dog friends out and about. Visitors will need to give Patch his space, so a separate area for him to retreat to when new people come over is essential. If you have the time and dedication to help this sweet boy feel safe and secure, he will repay you with loyalty and affection.

Could you be Patch's perfect match?

Once Patch knows you, he is an affectionate, cuddly boy who loves nothing more than climbing onto your lap for comfort. He might be nervous at first, but given time and gentle encouragement, his personality shines through. He enjoys a fuss from his favourite people and has started to show interest in scent games like snuffle mats—something his new family can explore further! Patch has not had much training due to his background, but he is eager to learn with patient guidance. He is still figuring out the world, including how to play with toys and feel comfortable around traffic, so he needs owners willing to help him take small, positive steps forward. With a little love and a lot of understanding, Patch will be a truly wonderful companion.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
