Description

Swift's ideal home

Golden oldie Swift has found himself back in our care for no fault of his own. He's found coming into the centre a little bit scary and overwhelming but is slowly learning to make some new friends. He's on the search for a quiet and peaceful retirement home where he can enjoy gentle walks and snoozes in a lovely comfy bed. Swift can live with adults only and will need to be the only pet, however he could share his walks with polite and calm doggies who aren't going to be too in his face. Swift has spent a long time in a home where he has been housetrained and happy being left for a few hours, however this may all need a little refresh when he's settled back into home life. His new family will need to be able to visit him a few time so that he can build a relationship and get to know you before he heads off home. Swift is currently learning to wear a muzzle for when he visits the vet as isn't a fan of too much handling.

Could you be Swift's perfect match?

Swift is a little bit chunky at the moment and undergoing a strict weight loss plan and is on a special diet. He's slowly loosing weight and is already feeling much happier! As an older boy he does have some ongoing medical needs, including arthritis which he currently on pain relief for. This will need to be monitored and continued in his forever home.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
