Description

Max's ideal home

Max is a handsome three-year-old Collie looking for a loving home with adults. He is looking to be the only dog in the home and a home without cats. We have no history of Max living with small furries or livestock. Max will need access to walks away from the road as he is worried by passing traffic. He is housetrained, and happy get in the car and travel for short distances. He could live in a reasonably busy household. Max is currently living offsite in a foster home on our Home from Home Scheme. It is best to build the time he is left alone up gradually once he is settled into his new home. Experience of the breed would be helpful but not necessary.

Could you be Max's perfect match?

Max has been enjoying living in a foster home. His foster carers have found him to be a lovely, relaxed Collie who enjoys his walks. He has liked walks on the beach, in the woods and in the countryside, he has even visited a local pub. He is not into toy play. He loves treats. Max is a blank canvas with his basic training, he would enjoy positive reward training and would make a good Dog School candidate. Max has met a few dogs when out and about. He would rather do his own thing and is not into playing with other dogs. Max likes to eat his food and drink out of plastic bowls, he dislikes the metal ones.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
